Extended Absence

Access terminated after extended absence

The QNFCF strives to maintain a safe and top-notch work environment for the benefit of its entire membership. This policy supports this objective by ensuring that a member's understanding of the facility's Safety and Operating policies continue to be well understood after an extended absence.

If a Lab Member has been absent for a period of six (6) months or more the following actions will be taken:

  • their access FOB will be deactivated
  • their Badger account will be deactivated
  • their ID badge will be removed
  • their sample bin and beaker kits will be removed (and repurposed if not reclaimed within 1 year of last access)

No warning of access suspension will be given

Should the affected member choose to return, he/she must demonstrate an ongoing understanding of QNFCF Safety and Operating policies by completing the following steps:

1. Complete and pass (with a 90% minimum test score) the following training programs:

    2. Complete COVID-19 Prerequisites

    3. Complete a cleanroom safety walkthrough. Walkthrough must be scheduled by contacting staff via email.

    ADDITIONAL NOTES

    • The member's FOB access will be restored and their ID badge returned to them within 2 business days of completion of the above requirements. Note that the member's previous equipment authorizations will remain active within Badger.
    • It is possible that the member's previous Advanced User Status (if applicable) may have been revoked during their extended absence. It is the member's responsibility to verify that they still meet the criteria for this status by checking the Advanced User List. If they no longer qualify as an Advanced User, the member must accumulate the required minimum hours of use before benefiting from Advanced User privileges as defined here.
