Piranha Solutions

Piranha solutions are extremely dangerous

Mixtures of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and sulphuric acid (H2SO4), ie., "piranha" solutions, are extremely reactive. If the mixture is not prepared correctly and in the required sequence, the solution may react violently and explode.

Piranha solutions are only permitted in certain wet benches and must absolutely only be prepared by trained and experienced lab members authorized by facility staff to work with these solutions. NO EXCEPTIONS.
